Family Education Program
The parent education program provides one-on-one
support, as well as parenting groups, covering such topics as child safety, self-esteem, child development, child abuse and
communication, in addition to issues identified by the participant. All parent groups
are open to the public.
One-to-one interventions are based on each family's
needs. The goal is to help parents learn coping skills, specific parenting skills and a way to deal with high stress situations.
Referrals to this program are made by a community
screening team. Families in need can be referred to the screening team by anyone, such as school personnel, OR families
may self-refer.
